Brookview Community League Board Needs Volunteers
We have the great fortune in Brookview to belong to one of the best communities in Edmonton, which is a great city in a great province in the best country in the world. A lot of superlatives I know, but the fact remains we are fortunate.
Part of the reason why we are so fortunate is because of the level of participation that our community has had over its relatively short history. Many things have changed over the years, but one thing remains the same...Without volunteers this community cannot function, period. No matter how much we have, or bring in through fundraising we cannot operate a building, programs, events, basketball, skating or anything for that matter if it were not for a small dedicated group of people that volunteer to serve the community.
This group is taking on more and more, and we need more people to step up an take an active part in running our Community League.
The best part is that the more people that volunteer, the easier it gets for everyone else.
There are also so many volunteer opportunities from one time events;from membership registration at soccer/hockey/baseball, to casinos and winter carnival committees to canvassing once a year for new BCL members. There are more regular positions that spread out the work over the course of the year acting as board members deciding the direction of the community league.
This allows you to share your voice, find out why things happen as they do, and affect change. The bigger part is voicing BCL's concerns within larger groups like the EFCL, TRAC, and the City of Edmonton. Right now we need people to join us so that the load is lightened for everyone.
Join Us, I know it's worth your time!
Contact anyone on our Board to find out more about volunteering opportunities. You can email directly from the website contact us page.
I look forward to meeting every one of our residents.
Warmest Regards,
