Congratulations in choosing to live in the community of Bulyea Heights or more commonly referred to as Brookview. We would like to take this opportunity to provide you with some information about the place you have decided to call home.
There are two organizations in Brookview providing services to residents: one is the Brookview Homeowners Association Ltd. (BHOA) and the other is the Brookview Community League (BCL). When Brookview was first created, the developers decided that they wanted more walkways than the City would provide, therefore the homeowners association was created to take ownership of and maintain the over 1 mile of extra walkways. A board of directors who are volunteers and residents of the community manage BHOA. A paid administrator manages the day-to-day operation of the association. There are 1196 residents in our community and all are members of BHOA and required to pay a fee of $150 + GST/year. All land titles contain a caveat that requires this payment. With this money, BHOA strives to maintain its walkways and support many activities that benefit all of the residents. A copy of the Articles of Association, which governs the management of BHOA, can be obtained from our website. You will be notified of the date for the annual general meeting and we encourage you to attend.
The Brookview Community League serves social and sporting activities in the community. Membership is voluntary. The community league has a hall for some of its activities and a community playground located next to the hall. Both are beside George H. Luck School.
We are proud of our community for the unique development of walkways, the Whitemud Creek Ravine, and the dry pond named Frank Victor Burton Field. A map of our sub/division is attached showing the many City-owned walkways, for which the City is responsible for maintaining, and the walkways owned by BHOA for which it is responsible for maintaining.
Welcome to Brookview and we look forward to seeing and assisting you in the future through our two community organizations.
